Challenge Time!

I found this amazing artist, Dustin Pike, and used digistamps for the first time and expanded my horizons a bit. Here is my take on his challenge.

I also combined it with a sketch challenge from Operation Write Home.

Here are a couple I whipped up for that.  The Love Note is another image from Dustin Pike.

This card was entered in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge.
For the Record is from Unity Stamps.  TFL!

Time for another monthly Unity Challenge!  This one is using unconventional colors for Christmas cards.  I used the olive green and rust colors.  I embossed the stamped sentiment and added a bow.  It was nice working out of the box a little bit.

Have a Merry Christmas!  TFL!

Stamper's Best Haul!

I just received some awesome new stamps, plus a couple of freebies thrown in!  These unmounted stamps from Stamper's Best are amazing and so reasonably priced!  Did I mention they threw in a couple of freebies?!  These were purchased with Operation Write Home in mind, and I cannot wait to use them!

More to come when I get a few projects completed!  TFL!

It has been so long since I've posted here; I have been so busy with the holidays, vacations, and the death of our beloved English Bulldog that I haven't had much time or inspiration to do much creatively.  BUT, I have found some time to do some card making and am so happy to be able share them.  These were some Thanksgiving cards that I made with the Unity Stamp Challenge in mind.

I love the fall colors in these cards and the postage stamp is one of my favorites to use. Maybe next year, I will remember to send them! TFL!

RIP my sweet Maggie.

Skipping Stones Designs Challenge

Another Skipping Stones Designs Challenge (SSD132).

I used a tag that I had made some time ago and have never had the chance to use.  I rotated the design so that the tag would fit into the card.

Inspiration Everywhere

I've been so busy working, I haven't had much of a chance to get crafty.  I recently received my new issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. magazine and was reading the Paper Crafts Connection blog this evening trying to get inspired. Both are discussing using regular household objects on projects, which got me wondering, what do I have around the house that I can use for my projects and if I find them, what do I do with them?  My idea came from an orange cupcake liner that was sitting on the top shelf, not to be used any time soon.

I sprayed it with Smooch spray and poof, instant sun!  Of course, you can't have a sun without a cloud, so a fabric softener was perfect.  It added texture and Smooch spray added color.  I intially tried to use a used fabric softener sheet, but it was too thin, was difficult to cut and wouldn't hold the color well.  A used sheet may be better used as a background where you don't have to cut a small image.

This inspired me to try some things that are out of the box and hopefully I can continue to find new inspiration around my home and elsewhere.  I am looking forward to trying some new things and looking at things in a different way.  TFL!

Another Skipping Stones Design challenge!

I was able to use some of my scraps that I've been trying to use up before investing in more paper!

Well, I finally got some pics printed!  This layout is from the Houston Rodeo, we had a blast!  We even tried a fried Twinkie!

Page 1, has a pocket with visitor's guide and tickets.

Page 2-Fried Twinkie!! :)

Title made with a corrugated paper and craft paint to distress. I cut out the flags and strung them.

I like to keep thing like guides and maps used while at events; they're free and give a good idea of what the event was like.  I used baker's twine and cut up a sheet protector to make my pocket.

Another design sketch challenge!  I love sketch challenges, they give me design ideas when I can't come up with one on my own.  This one is from Unity Stamps.

Here's my take on it.  The paper is Crate Paper.

Here are a couple of birthday cards using hot air ballons, which I just love!  They are great for feminine or masculine cards.

A wedding card for a friend...

And one just because it's finally spring and I love the colors!

I finally got around to doing some more cards.  I am working on getting a batch of photos printed so I can finally scrap some of our adventures!  Who knew one of the most difficult thing about moving across the country would be finding a place to have my photos printed at a reasonable price!  So, until then I am going to try to get my card stash stocked.

This is a design challenge from Skipping Stones Designs.

Here's my take...

Will post more soon, hope you find your inspiration!

So, I have been making cards the last couple of days, getting my craft on!

This was made for Skipping Stones Designs challenge.  I used Glitz Designs Maya collection papers, which I also used in the following card, along with Unity stamps.

Here are a couple more that I worked on, using Unity stamps.

Have a wonderful, crafty day!!

It's Been A Long Time!

Well, it's been a long time since I have posted anything here.  I have decided with the new year that I need a creative outlet, so here it is!  My first post is a design challenge for Unity Stamp Company.

Here was the sketch...

My design, in lieu of upcoming Valentine's Day!
