Note Card Box

I have been wanting to do this project for a while now and am so happy with how it turned out! It was so easy, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be making a lot more of these in the future!

I made this note card box for my mother's birthday. She loves to send little notes and I thought this was perfect!

The box is CTMH and the papers are as well, unfortunately the patterned paper is retired. I used metal flowers as an accent and made the paper flowers and swirl with the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

The 3x3 cards are made with Art Philosophy also. I used the Love This stamp set from CTMH.

The pattern for this was from  www.lisastenz.com.

I did get some Mother's Day cards made, although a little late, I admit. The moms didn't mind, as long as they got a phone call and a card in the mail at some point! You have to love moms!

I used the Ivy Lane Papers and the Ariana papers. Letters are Hopscotch Alphabet, Flamingo Dots for accents. Frame Flair and Cricut Art Philosphy were used for the shapes.

These are simple cards, and honestly, so simple to make! I used the Make It From Your Heart vol.2 for the card sketch, which includes all paper measurements. Talk about making things easy! I love this How-To Program, it features 16 two-page layout patterns, 2 single-page patterns, as well as 12 different card patterns which makes my life very easy! I get a lot more accomplished these days with this!

TFL, come back soon and happy crafting!

Welcome Back!

I can't believe it's been two months since my last post! How does time get away from us so quickly?

I apologize to my followers for not keeping up, but sometimes things just have to give to maintain a little sanity! I am going to try to post at least every two weeks if I can't get to it every week.

So, what have I been up to? On top of working a Big Girl job and a second part time job to sustain my crafting habits, I've been working at CTMH and doing a little creating when I can.

I've also been setting up a fundraiser for an amazing foundation, the Gabrielle Dinsmore Heart and Hope Fund, an organization that is dear to my family.

If you have ever considered ordering from CTMH, now is a great time! All of my proceeds for this gathering will be donated to this foundation. The foundation assists children and families with heart defects, helping send them to camp and giving them valuable resources. Please go to www.tamarac.ctmh.com to order.
This is a fundraiser that I am doing, not CTMH, so please order through me under the Gabrielle Dinsmore gathering. Verify you are part of this gathering by looking at the lower right hand corner of the main screen. If it says 'leave' you are already signed into the gathering.

I have also been getting a little creative lately!
Here are a few things I've come up with over the last few weeks.

Made with Laughing Lola papers, Live In The Moment stamp from the Skylark Workshop on the Go with black epoxy bubbles and flamingo dots.

Believe In Yourself made with the Skylark papers, Believe In Yourself stamp set and clear epoxy bubbles.

Thank you card made with Skylark papers (can you tell I love this paper line?), February Stamp of the Month (fox), and the Chevron and Striped embossing folders.

I definitely have more to share with you and will post more soon!

Teepee Baby Shower Invitations

I have a dear friend who is getting ready to be a grandmother for the first time and she asked me to help her make some baby shower invitations. Her family is Native American and she really wanted to incorporate that into the shower and the invitations.

The card does fold and fits into a standard envelope for mailing.

I used the Autumn Terracotta cardstock from Close To My Heart. I love this cardstock because it is thick and sturdy, perfect for this project!

For the month of February, you can buy two packs of this cardstock (any color, including multi-color packs) and get an embossing folder free!

Box card

I have been seeing these box cards, and have been dying to try one! I found the tutorial at Split Coast Stampers. This was so easy to make, thanks to the great tutorial video! I used the Close To My Heart Huntington patterned paper (retired) and Autumn Terracotta cardstock

When folded it looks just as amazing!

I can't wait to make more once I get the hang of it!

Altered Journal

I've had this journal in my stash for a while, just waiting to be altered. I used the Skylark paper and embellishments, which I love!

I used a stamp from my stash to stamp the background with Gypsy ink and the Cricut Artbooking cartridge to cut the frame and trim.

The patterned paper is Skylark and the solid colors are Lagoon and Sweet Leaf cardstock both in the Skylark Workshops on the Go.

I love all of these colors, they remind me of spring, they are so bright and colorful.

Valentine's Decoration

A little known fact about me: I am I Starbucks nerd. I even went as far as to have a part time job, I only work a handful of days a month on top of my full time job. That being said, I have tons of coffee bags and tea tins that I admittedly hoard. I don't know why, I guess I figure I can find something to do with them, I hate throwing things away! So, the next couple of posts will be how to repurpose those items. I decided to take on my tea tins first, and I decided to make decorations/centerpieces with them.

I used not only the tea tin, but a small floral block and a .99 cent centerpiece from the party store.

I cut apart the centerpiece in order to use the pieces. I am going to use the others for another project (stay tuned! Think Mardi Gras!).

I used both the Artbooking and Art Philosophy cartridges to cut some images.

I used CTMH Pink Glitter Gems as an accent.

I used some scraps and some paper and stickers I've had in my stash (for a long time, as in 10 years).

I used skewers and attached the images with glue dots. I used some tissue paper to fill the tin to fill the empty space and keep it from being wobly.

This was entered in the fpllowing challenges:

Valentines!

I have been trying to go through some of my scraps and use them up before they take over! At the same time, I have been inspired to make some Valentine cards. Most of my scraps are traditional Valentine colors, and then I thought, not everybody can get into pink and red, especially men so I challenged myself to make a couple non-traditional Valentines.

I came across the Curtain Call challenge as well and submitted my first creation.

I used my CTMH Artbooking cartridge to create all images. The swirl background was made with CTMH Swirls Around Flair stamps.

I also made another one that is much more masculine, using a diamond background sprayed with a shimmer spray that I had made months ago and have been dying to use!

I used my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the key and the heart. I didn't have the right sentiment stamps so I handwrote it. I'm not crazy about my handwriting, but it does add a personal touch I suppose.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Valentine's Treats

I am loving creating new things with my new CTMH Cricut Art Philosphy cartridge! I had to make something for Valentine's Day, I couldn't resist!

I made two different treat boxes, one pillow box and one that can hold small candy. I made a few tags also. I didn't have the Valentine's paper that had the right colors, so I made some using Swirls Around Flair stamps and different color inks. The tickets were made using the Art Philosophy cart and stamps that came with the Cricut collection.

I entered these in the Inspired By Challenge, the treats and tags were perfect.

Blessings Jar

I have wanted to make one of these Blessings Jars since I saw one on Pinterest last year. For those of you who have never seen one, you use a Blessings Jar every time something good happens, no matter how small. When these positive moments and events happen, write it on a piece of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the year, read all of your blessings from the past year. What a great way to remind ourselves how blessed we really are!

I used a plastic container that I had saved for this project, but any jar will do if you choose to make one.

The gray background paper is CTMH Huntington and the polka dots are CTMH washi tape (available Feb 2014), which I am falling in love with! The frame and glitter letters were from my stash.

The "Countdown" numbers are CTMH Slate cardstock backed with Ruby and cut with the Cricut Artbooking cartridge.

The pocket on the side is cut from Cricut Boxes, Bags and Tags which is perfect for holding paper scraps and a pen.

I am loving how this turned out, as simple as it is. We already have been blessed this year and have made several entries to the jar. I hope this inspires you to create your own and remember how blessed we all are!

Welcome back! I feel like it's been so long since I've been able to create anything! If only I could be a full time crafter, my life would be complete. I did get a chance to make this lovely card using the CTMH Lifting Spirits stamp set.

I have submitted this card for the the Just Us Girls Paper Piecing challenge. I am getting very excited for Valentine's Day, I can't wait to do some crafting using some different colors!
